Alcoholism is not just a temporary phase of life; once an alcoholic always an alcoholic. Even living with the recovering alcoholic bares its challenges.
Each day is a new day and for those family members or friends who live with an alcoholic, this is something that has to be considered. Beware that many alcoholics can take control of their lives successfully, but it is a continual process to stay on top of the dictating disease.
An alcoholic is an unbalanced individual and must never be relied upon to behave in a proper manner. Their behaviour is unpredictable from one hour to the next or one day to another. When living with an alcohoilc it is hard to accept the unusual behaviour and the effect that it has on a family. However, it is not something that can be resolved.
For someone living with an alcoholic, you have a choice. Either learn to accept the circumstances or break away from them. Of course, it is easier said than done. Alcoholism does not effect the love that you have for an individual or the amount that you care for them. The alcoholic is also the person you fell in love, partner, father or mother.
Sophia Stuart-Clark leads you into the life she knows. Living with an alcoholic in denial, an alcoholic uncovered and the recovery alcoholic.
